Burj Khalifa by Metro

The Burj Khalifa has its own metro station name – Burj Khalifa/Dubai Mall (R25) on the Red Line – and the metro is flatly the best way to reach it: AED 3-7.50 from anywhere on the network, no parking labyrinth, and the tower guiding you in through the skyline the whole ride.

Station to tower, step by step

From the platforms, follow The Dubai Mall signage onto the 820-metre air-conditioned Metro Link bridge (travelators, 15-20 minutes). The bridge lands inside the mall; At the Top’s entrance sits on the mall’s lower ground floor – follow the burgundy signage down. Total station-to-ticket-desk: 25 minutes at an easy pace. For the Burj’s outside viewpoints instead (the Fountain boardwalk, Burj Park), continue through the mall to the lake exits.

Timing your visit around the ride

  • Sunset slots at At the Top sell out first and cost more – book days ahead, then work the metro backwards: slot time minus 45 minutes = leave your hotel’s station.
  • Fountain shows run every 30 minutes in the evening; the bridge walk means leaving Downtown-bound trains an hour before “your” show is relaxed, 40 minutes is tight.
  • The evening return is the crunch: post-fountain and post-dinner waves pack R25’s platforms from 9 PM. Either linger over dessert past the peak or ride one stop to Business Bay and breathe.

Fares and times from where you are

Airport T3: AED 5, ~25 min. Deira hotels (Al Rigga): AED 5, ~15 min. Marina (Sobha Realty): AED 5 (zones 2 to 6), ~20 min. Mall of the Emirates: AED 5, ~20 min. The calculator handles any other pair.

Worth knowing

  • Two Burj experiences: At the Top (124/125) is the standard ticket; SKY (148) and the lounge floors price differently – all share the same mall entrance.
  • The free version: the Fountain shows + Burj Park’s lakeside angle cost nothing and photograph better than the deck selfies.
  • Friday evenings are peak everything here – the 1 AM Friday metro close is your ally; the 9-11 PM platform crowds are the price.
  • Combine smartly: Museum of the Future (Emirates Towers, 2 stops) and the Frame (Max, 4 stops) chain into one AED-cheap architecture day.
