Al Garhoud (R15), formerly GGICO, is a Red Line station in zone 5 between Airport Terminal 1 and City Centre Deira. Older hotel directions using GGICO refer to the same station.

Airport direction: the important distinction

For the airport, board towards Centrepoint. Terminal 1 is the next stop; Terminal 3 is two stops away. Our earlier guide reversed these positions. The train ride does not include your walk to the terminal or airline check-in time.

Choosing this station for Garhoud

Garhoud covers more than one station’s immediate surroundings. For a hotel, restaurant or sporting venue, check the actual entrance before deciding to walk. Road crossings, weather and luggage matter more than the district name in a booking listing.

If you are attending a tennis match or another event, follow the organiser’s arrival and exit instructions. Do not assume the last train will follow the end of play or that a particular station exit will remain available under event crowd controls.

City-bound journeys

Trains towards Expo 2020 or Life Pharmacy go next to City Centre Deira, then Al Rigga and Union. For a Green Line journey, compare the change at Union or BurJuman in the route planner. The fare tables below show the station-pair calculation, while RTA supplies the departure timetable.
