Dubai Healthcare City station (G28) does double duty: gateway to the medical district that gives it its name, and the closest Green Line stop to a surprising leisure cluster – Wafi’s Egyptian-themed mall, Raffles’ pyramid, Creek Park’s green kilometres and the Dubai Dolphinarium. Elevated, fare zone 6, on the line’s southern arm toward Creek.

For patients and visitors

DHCC’s hospitals and clinics spread across a campus of numbered buildings – allow ten extra minutes for the walk from the station to whichever block your appointment names, or take the two-minute taxi from the rank for mobility-limited visits (the district’s internal distances are its one flaw). Pharmacies cluster near the main hospital entrances, and the area runs calm on weekends when the clinics thin out.

The 8-9 AM inbound window carries the clinic rush; trains stay comfortable but the taxi-rank queue peaks, so pre-book if minutes matter, and visa-medical season floods the clinics in waves with mornings the crush and late afternoons the mercy.

The leisure side nobody expects

Wafi Mall – pyramids, stained glass and a khan-style souq level – is the district’s underrated stop, a short walk from the station, with the Raffles pyramid rising behind it. Creek Park unrolls along the water one district over: barbecue lawns, a cable car, and the Dolphinarium at its gate. For families staying central, this station quietly covers an entire low-cost day out – park entry is a few dirhams, and the metro brings you to its doorstep.

Position on the line

Two stops from BurJuman’s Red Line interchange, two from the Creek terminus where the Blue Line arrives in 2029 – meaning this quiet stretch of the Green Line gains a direct link to Festival City and Creek Harbour within three years. Al Jadaf next door already carries the district’s new cultural anchors (the Mohammed Bin Rashid Library and Jameel Arts Centre, one stop).

Local tips

  • Appointment mornings: the 8-9 AM inbound window carries the clinic rush – trains stay comfortable, but the taxi rank queue peaks; pre-book if minutes matter.
  • Creek Park entrances: Gate 1 (near the Dolphinarium) is the station-side entry; the park is long, so enter at the gate nearest your plan.
  • Wafi evenings: the mall’s Khan Murjan souq level and courtyard restaurants are at their best after dark – and rarely crowded.
  • Zone 6 hops: BurJuman, Oud Metha and Downtown (via BurJuman) are all cheap 1-2 zone rides.

Getting here and onward

From the airport it is roughly 25 minutes via Union or BurJuman for AED 5. There is no tram or marine link; the taxi rank covers the hospital traffic.
